Kind friends just gifted me an older version of Adobe Photoshop Elements software. I have always used the software that came with my Canon G9 to occasionally trim and to adjust brightness of my photographs, and will continue to do so as I'm familiar with it.
The Elements program allows me to take large file photos that my son always takes, and "batch" downsize them, which is a real handy feature for me. I will also enjoy using Elements to turn some of my color photos into grayscale black and white photos (those that need that "historic" feel).
And though I say I won't fool around too much, with the capabilities of Elements, winter will soon be here, and I doubt if I can resist the temptation to learn some techniques like this color on black and white treatment.....just for the fun of it. Thanks J & E !
Framing From Balboa Park
This is the same image I posted yesterday but I tested out OnOne's new Photo Effects 3. I downloaded the Photo Suite 6 and started playing with it. It's a nice piece of software, but certainly has bugs. I spent about 45 minutes trying out a bunch of new filters and got something I liked and then started playing with the Photo Frames module. While I was trying out some frames the software crashed and I lost everything and had to start over with the filters.
I otherwise enjoyed using Photo Effects. The software looks really nice, it feels a lot like Lightroom but it doesn't run quite as smoothly. The effects in Photo Effects are pretty cool and I can see myself having a fun time playing around with it.
